Winter Wonderland Dance Extravaganza | Friday December 13, 2024
The Toronto Swing Dance Society has invited the band to return for a special dance. Open to the public! The band will play from 8:00pm to 11:00pm with a DJ on the breaks, with dance styles ranging from East Coast Swing to West Coast Swing and even a little Ballroom, Hustle and Country 2Step. $5.00 for TSDS members and $10.00 for everyone else. It will take place at Beverley Halls, 206 Beverley St. (upstairs) in Toronto. Founded in 1989, TSDS is Canada’s longest-running and largest Swing Dance group. It is a not-for-profit community organization, run entirely by dedicated and unpaid volunteers.

We have moved this successful event to the Trillium East Hall inside Le Tréport Wedding and Convention Centre,1075 Queensway East in Mississauga. It is just east of Cawthra Road, on the north side. Fewer than 10 tickets are left to buy! It will be the George Lake BIG Band and Little Peter and the Elegants returning to bring you terrific music from many decades. Visit their website at www.georgelakebigband.com. Lots of free parking around Le Tréport and easy access through the front door, including an accessibility ramp. Doors will open at 5:00pm, with reserved seating, 10 chairs per table, and spring water in your glasses. The buffet, starting at 6:00pm, will offer a selection of deluxe sandwiches (roast beef, turkey, tuna, egg salad, Genoa salami) and veggie wraps plus two appetizing salads. Then choose a dessert from a variety of pastries, tarts and mini cakes. The alcoholic beverages are $7 and $8 and bottles of wine will also be on sale. The bar accepts cash, debit and credit cards. A cash machine is in the lobby. Live music from 7:00pm to 11:00pm with the two bands alternating sets, using two stage areas, on a large wooden dance floor. Summer Concert Series | Sunday September 1, 2024
The band returns to Port Credit Memorial Park, 40 Lakeshore Rd. E., Mississauga performing from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. We have drawn large crowds to these Sunday evening concerts over the years since 2011. Parking is available in the lot by the Port Credit Library, in the Port Credit Arena lot and along the streets. The concert is free! Bring a chair or blankets to sit on the grass. We are the final show in the 8-concert series which included: Mississauga Symphony Orchestra on Sun July 7, Shout! The British Invasion on Sun July 14, Mississauga Big Band Jazz Ensemble on Sun July 21, Junior Santos on Sun July 28, Luna Elle and Primo on Sun August 4, Stephanie Braganza on Sun August 11 and Alessia Cohle on Sun August 25. Canada's Largest Ribfest | Friday August 30, 2024
We are making our debut at this popular Ribfest in Burlington's Spencer Smith Park, 1400 Lakeshore Rd., that can draw 165,000 people over the Labour Day Weekend. The band will perform from 1:45pm to 3:00pm on the Global Fuels Stage near the Waterfront Hotel. This Ribfest is proudly organized by The Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore. All proceeds from the Ribfest go to charity. There is a kids zone with dozens of games, face-painting and midway rides. Admission is $2.00 and children age 12 and under are free. Burlington's Concerts in the Park | Sunday August 18, 2024
The band is returning for a 6th year to the Central Park Band Shell, 2299 New St. in Burlington for a free 90 minute concert beginning at 7:00pm. This is part of the Summer Concert Series organized by the City of Burlington. From the QEW, exit on Guelph Line, head south to New St., turn right and enter the Park using Teen Tour Way or Drury Lane. Don't forget your blanket or lawn chair! The band has been invited to perform at the Active Adult Centre of Mississauga in celebration of the City of Mississauga's 50th Birthday! The Centre is located on the 2nd floor of Central Parkway Mall, 377 Burnhamthorpe Rd. E., Unit 116 in Mississauga. The dance is from 12:30pm to 4:30pm and tickets were $25.00/person. This event, sponsored by the Mississauga Arts Council, is now sold-out with a waiting list.
